  25. WHAT YOU NEED:
  26.  
  27. * A 486 or Pentium PC running a 32-bit operating system, such as
  28.   Windows 95, NT 4.  This program will NOT work with 16-bit operating
  29.   systems, such as Windows 3.11 or 3.11 for workgroups. 
  30. * A sound card. (not essential as the program will work out if you
  31.   have not got a sound card. All there will be is a short delay
  32.   when you start the draw. Unfortunately, you will not be able to
  33.   see the complete draw). 
  34. * About 1.22 MB of hard drive. Due to the number of files used,
  35.   this program will not work directly off a 3.5" floppy disk.

  38.                        Installation Instructions
  39. ========================================================================

  41. Installation is simple. If you are reading this README.TXT then
  42. you have PKUNZIPPED this file. If not, just run the PKUNZIP file
  43. program with MicroLot Lotto.ZIP and all your files will be uncompressed.
  44. Use the following - PKUNZIP MICROLOT
  45. Make sure you create a directory to put all the files in. I suggest
  46. c:\MicroLot, when c:\ is the drive you wish to put the directory in.
  47. All the files are then ready to run.

  59. part3.wav           The sound track between 2nd and 3rd numbers.
  60. part4.wav           The sound track between 3rd and 4th numbers.
  61. part5.wav           The sound track between 4th and 5th numbers.
  62. part6.wav           The sound track between 5th and 6th numbers.

  82. There is also an installation file hidden on the hard drive. I
  83. cannot tell you where it is, as modification to it will end your
  84. evaluation of MicroLot Lotto. Also, if the clock is turned back or the
  85. installation file is transferred to another PC, can also end your
  86. evaluation. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

  89.                         Running MicroLot Lotto
  90. ========================================================================

  92. Details in how to use MicroLot Lotto, can be found in the help file,
  93. LOTTERY.HLP in the same directory as MicroLot Lotto. Simply type
  94. LOTTERY in the directory to run MicroLot Lotto. Feel free to create a
  95. shortcut.

  98.                        Bugs in MicroLot Lotto 
  99. ========================================================================

  101. MicroLot Lotto has been tested on several machines, including a P200
  102. machine. If you find any problems in running MicroLot Lotto, like
  103. unexpected messages, results appear or it doesn't look right on the
  104. screen, then please contact me at : MicroLot@jcwchan.clara.net, putting
  105. 'MicroLot Lotto BUGS' in the subject heading. Please tell me what format
  106. your time and date are, the problem you encountered and whether you can
  107. repeat what caused the problem. I must be able to repeat the problem.

  109. A known problem is when another program is running at the same time,
  110. especially other sound devices. If another sound device is running,
  111. the sound track of MicroLot Lotto will not work. The program will attempt
  112. to recover itself within 15 seconds. It is the same method that non
  113. sound card PC will work. Multi-tasking MicroLot Lotto with other programs
  114. may cause MicroLot Lotto to slow down or not working as expected. It is
  115. best for MicroLot Lotto to work on its own.
  116.  
  117. Some normal messages :
  118. 'This program has been installed on a different machine.
  119. 'The data file has been changed.'
  120. 'You have turn back the date.'
  121. 'This shareware program has expired.'
  122. 'Thank you for register MicroLot Lotto.'
  123. 'As you are unlocking this program by registering.'
  124. 'Random Number Generator Failed.'
  125. 'Another Sound Device is in use or not available'
  126. 'File date has been changed'.

  128. All the above messages are normal. Do not report. If you report a
  129. valid problem and I consider that there is a problem and you are
  130. the first person to report it, you may get a free registration or
  131. money off, depending on how serious the problem is. I must be able
  132. to repeat the problem to qualify.

  134. MicroLot Lotto may not work with large fonts in Windows 95. If you find
  135. this problem, press ALT + X and then Y and resize your font in the
  136. control panel, or click on the top right of the window.

  143. MicroLot@jcwchan.clara.net, subject heading 'MicroLot Lotto FULL VERSION'.
  144. Please include your name, address, country and security code as
  145. mention in the registration part of MicroLot Lotto and I will tell you how
  146. to pay.
  147. UK REGISTRATION : I can accept cheques or postal orders.
  148. OTHER COUNTRIES : I can accept cheques drawn against UK banks, in
  149. GBP. I can also accept cash in GBP, at your own risk. No other
  150. currency will be accepted, unless you pay the commission to change
  151. your currency to GBP, currently around 2 GBP on top of registration
  152. cost. I cannot accept coins except for GBP.

  156. Currently, the price is 5 GBP ($10 US) as of January 1997
  157. (special introduction price). This may rise in due course. Feel free to
  158. pay more to encourage me to write more applications.

  161. but normally within a week, depending where in the world you are.
  162. Your code is only unique to your PC and no other PCs. Please, do not
  163. format your hard drive or delete your operating system, as this can
  164. affect the code. If you have to, a request of the code can be given,
  165. but must give a valid reason.

  171. To celebrate the release of Version 1.0 of MicroLot Lotto, there will be
  172. a competition to win a registered copy of MicroLot Lotto, without payment.
  173. Second prizes will win half the cost off the registration of MicroLot Lotto.

  175. Anyone who registers MicroLot Lotto, paid up and win, will receive their
  176. money back. Anyone who signs my guest book and answer some questions,
  177. has a chance to win. You will not be committed to purchase MicroLot Lotto
  178. once you sign my guest book. Your comments will be grateful. All
  179. competition winners will have their email and home page link from my
  180. site, just to make sure I am not fixing the competition.

  183. you win or not, you will receive any update information via email.
